Useful lessons for freelancers – #1: Look Busy

This entry is part 1 of 5 in the series Useful Tips for Freelancers

Look busy

Even if work slows down, you should be able to find plenty of things to do. Things like: updating your website, updating your CV, calling potential customers, calling clients and saying hello, arranging meetings with colleagues, book-keeping, admin, back-ups, blogging, networking, reading books and blogs, skill-swapping and evaluating your competition.

You should never be ‘finished’.

I live by this principle. I am never finished and always have something I can do, even if its as small as checking my analytical log data. It takes 5-10 minutes to browse over your log results. Great tips and advice. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for commenting. You made a good point – too many website owners never check their stats! It’s a great place to start for anyone looking to make their website work. It’s hard to improve a website without knowing what’s wrong with it first.
