Wildlife Trust case study
Project: Edit web pages to make them more interesting and more appealing to readers
Wildlife Trust needed…
Hampshire & Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust were updating their website. As well as needing to fit content to new templates, the charity was keen to simplify and improve one particular area of content. The original content had been written by multiple authors and was somewhat out-of-date, verbose and repetitive.
Work included…
One of the key challenges was getting up to speed so that we could decide how best to edit the web pages. We needed to trim back a lot of content – without losing any of the important points.
Our work included:
- Visiting the client to learn more about their requirements
- Interviewing stakeholders to discover which projects were still active
- Re-shaping content to fit a new template
- Cutting out irrelevant content
- Merging pages to simplify the section.
Results:
We managed to simplify the content and reduce the word count significantly. We also achieved a consistent style across all the pages.
We were subsequently re-hired to edit another section of the website.
